Kennel Assistant

Private kennel/ranch home has an immediate opening part – full time (weekdays, weekends and some holidays) Kennel Assistant. We are looking for a mature, hardworking, responsible, reliable, trustworthy person to join our team in providing top quality care to our dogs. We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join Graves Labrador Retriever team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals. No experience needed. Will train if you’re willing to learn. Pay options are cash or 1099.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Work well individually and as part of a team
• Work outside & inside
• multi task and be detail oriented
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions & willingness to learn, follow instructions and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
• Ability to lift heavy objects, such as bags of dog food or dogs (could exceed 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed, as well as occasional overtime.
• Have own transportation.

Responsibilities:

Will include but not limited to: Working closely with the kennel owner and other kennel assistants to manage the care of intelligent working dogs.

• Cleaning/disinfecting kennels & outside areas using hoses and spray bottles of disinfectant.
• Sweeping, moping kennels & all office areas, restroom. As well as deep cleaning. As well as dog laundry or cleaning dishes.
• Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility, including feeding, watering & letting out dogs.
• Dog and puppy poop scooping.
• Comfortable administering medications when required or needed
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
• Ability to handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively
• Can get stuff done quick and efficiently and thrive in the environment while maintaining attention to detail
